DESCRIPTION:Join Bristol Parent Carers and Wecil as we explore Personal Budgets/Direct Payments to help you manage your own support funding effectively\n\n\nWelcome to Direct Payments and Personal Budgets Explained – Managing your own support funding effectively. \nJoin Bristol Parent Carers and WECIL at St Anne’s House on Wednesday 3rd June at 10AM for our in person session on Direct Payments and Persoanl Budgets. \nOur in person sessions are a great way to connect with other parent carers in a relaxed and welcoming space. We’ll have tea\, coffee\, biscuits and fruit available — so come along\, have a cuppa\, and take some time for you while getting helpful information and support. \nIn this session we will explore Direct Payments and Personal Budgets. Whether you’re new to managing support funding or want to feel more confident with the process\, this session will help you understand your options and feel more in control. \nIn this session we will cover: \n\nWhat Direct Payments and Personal Budgets are\, and how they work\nMyth-busting\nHow Direct Payments are a great option for some (not all)\nThe pros and cons of managing your own funding\nPractical tips to help you use funding in a way that works for your family\nWhat support is out there to take the strain away from parent carers\n\nPlaces are free\, but if you’re able to make a small donation to help us continue offering free sessions to as many families as possible\, we’d be incredibly grateful. \n*Please note\, to attend this session for free\, you must live in Bristol (your bin will be collected by Bristol City Council)\, or your child must attend a school in the Bristol city area. You must also have a child with Special Educational Needs\, but they do not need to have a diagnosis.

DESCRIPTION:Special Educational Needs & Disabilities Coffee Afternoon for parents and carers of children with SEND\n\n\nBristol Parent Carer Forum hosts coffee mornings from schools for parent carers of children and young adults that have Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND). \nThere is no need to book but if you can\, that is helpful. Please come along for a chat with our volunteers and other families who “get it”. We are happy to talk through any problems or issues you are facing over a nice cup of tea (or coffee!) and you can find out more information on what support is available locally for your child or a child you care for. \nI f you need additional support to access this coffee morning such as support with English or other adjustments\, please let us know. \nAn important role of the Parent Carer Forum is to hear about the experiences of parent carers in Bristol. We would like to hear from you about your experiences with SEND services so that we can be sure that your voice is heard and that we can shape the future of SEND services together.
