SUMMARY:Understanding the Health Section of an EHCP: What Families need to Know
DESCRIPTION:A support session on navigating the Health section of an EHCP.\n\n\nWelcome to: Understanding the Health Section of an EHCP: What Parents Need to Know \nJoin Bristol Parent Carers and Watkins Solicitors on Monday 9th March\, online at 10:00am. \nMany parents and carers tell us they feel confused or unsure when reading health advice written for their child’s EHCP\, especially when it doesn’t seem to reflect their child’s individual medical needs. SUMMARY:Supporting Healthy Relationships and Sex Education in SEND
DESCRIPTION:Join us as we discuss how to support your child or young person with sex education and relationships.\n\n\nWelcome to Supporting Healthy Relationships and Sex Education for Children and Young People with SEND \nJoin Bristol Parent Carers and Alice Hoyle from Sense and Connect on Thursday 26th March at 7PM. \nTalking about sex and relationships can feel uncomfortable\, especially when supporting a child or young person with SEND. Many parent carers worry about when to start\, what to say\, or how to keep their child safe while still respecting their growing independence. \nThis session will explore how to talk openly and positively about healthy relationships\, consent\, boundaries\, and growing up. We will look at the evidence for why this topic is essential\, how to support your child to understand their own feelings and bodies\, and what to do if things feel confusing or go wrong. The focus is on reassurance\, confidence building\, and giving you practical tools you can use at home. \nThis session will not be recorded. \nIn this session\, we will cover: \n\nApproaches for talking about bodies\, relationships\, consent and sex.\nHow to offer age and stage appropriate information that takes into account developmental needs.\nRecognising signs of healthy and unhealthy relationships and how to support your Child or young person to understand these.\nWhere to find further resources and support if you need more guidance.\n\nPlaces are free\, but if you’re able to make a small donation to help us continue offering free sessions to as many families as possible\, we’d be incredibly grateful. \n*Please note\, to attend this session for free\, you must live in Bristol (your bin will be collected by Bristol City Council)\, or your child must attend a school in the Bristol city area. You must also have a child with Special Educational Needs\, but they do not need to have a diagnosis.
