DESCRIPTION:Join Sirona Care and Health to learn about changes to the local Autism and ADHD pathways and waiting lists.\n\n\nWe will explain what is changing\, what it means for families and how children and young people will be able to access support earlier. \nWhat is changing? \n\nA single\, joined-up pathway for Autism and ADHD\nA new Neurodivergent Needs Analysis tool for schools and health professionals\nSupport from a new Neurodiversity Team\, including:\nSpeech and Language Therapists (SLTs)\nOccupational Therapists (OTs)\nEducational Psychologists (EPs)\nOther specialist professionals\n\nThe new approach will focus on understanding a child or young person’s: \n\nStrengths\nNeeds\nDifferences\nThe support that may help them at school\, at home and in everyday life\n\nThe aim is to provide support earlier\, rather than families waiting years for an assessment before help is available. \nWill assessments still happen? \nYes. Autism and ADHD assessments will continue to be available for children and young people who need them. \nWho is this event for? \nThis event is for parent carers (parents and carers of disabled children and young people\, or those with additional needs)\, families and professionals who would like to understand the changes and ask questions. \nThere will be time for questions and discussion. Please note that the team will not be able to answer questions about individual children or young people. \nWhere is this event\, and what time should I arrive? \nThis event is online via zoom. Joining instructions are shared via email 30 minutes before the event starts. Arrival from 6:25pm so that we can start at 6:30pm. \nThe presentation will end at 7:30pm\, and Bristol Parent Carer Staff will be available for signposting and support until 8pm.
