SUMMARY:Holy Cross RC Primary School | SEND Coffee Morning | Anyone can attend
DESCRIPTION:Special Educational Needs & Disabilities Coffee Mornings for parents and carers of children with SEND\n\n\nBristol Parent Carer Forum hosts coffee mornings from schools for parent carers of children and young adults that have Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND). \nThere is no need to book but if you can\, that is helpful. Please come along for a chat with our volunteers and other families who “get it”. We are happy to talk through any problems or issues you are facing over a nice cup of tea (or coffee!) and you can find out more information on what support is available locally for your child or a child you care for. \nIf you need additional support to access this coffee morning such as support with English or other adjustments\, please let us know. \nAn important role of the Parent Carer Forum is to hear about the experiences of parent carers in Bristol. We would like to hear from you about your experiences with SEND services so that we can be sure that your voice is heard and that we can shape the future of SEND services together.

SUMMARY:Self Compassion for Single Parent Carers: Session 1
DESCRIPTION:Join us for this two-part single parent session where we come together to learn how to be compassionate with ourselves\n\n\nThis event is designed to cover two sessions so you can gain the most benefit from the workshop. \nBook your space here for session two on Friday 15th May. \n \nWelcome to Self Compassion for Single Parent Carers. \nJoin Bristol Parent Carers and Murmuration at The Park Centre\, Knowle on Friday 8th and Friday 15th May at 10AM. \nAs parent carers we face huge challenges everyday\, not least because of the judgement\, prejudice and lack of understanding from the wider world. In this session we will explore the impact of ableism on our mental wellbeing\, and learn how compassion-based strategies can help us be well\, even in the hard moments on this path. \nThe session will offer: \n\nA safe\, understanding space with other single parent carers\nHonest conversation about stress\, isolation\, and emotional load\nPractical ways to support your wellbeing when time and energy are limited\nReassurance that what you’re feeling is valid and you’re not alone\n\nOur in person sessions are a great way to connect with other parent carers in a relaxed and welcoming space. We’ll have tea\, coffee\, biscuits and fruit available — so come along\, have a cuppa\, and take some time for you while getting helpful information and support. \n \nPlaces are free\, but if you’re able to make a small donation to help us continue offering free sessions to as many families as possible\, we’d be incredibly grateful. \n*Please note\, to attend this session for free you must live in Bristol (your bin will be collected by Bristol City Council)\, or your child must attend a school in the Bristol city area. You must also have a child with Special Educational Needs\, but they do not need to have a diagnosis.

SUMMARY:Let's Talk About Resource Bases
DESCRIPTION:Share your views on Bristol’s Resource Bases\, from finding out information\, to asking for a place\, and attending a Resource Base\n\n\nWelcome to Let’s Talk About Resource Bases \nJoin Bristol Parent Carers and Bristol City Council online on Wednesday 13th May at 10am. \nResource Bases are specialist classrooms or units within mainstream schools. They support children and young people with Education\, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs) who need extra or different help. Children usually spend at least part of the day learning in the Resource Base and are supported by specialist staff. You can find out more about Bristol’s Resource Bases on this page of our website. \nSchools with Resource Bases in Bristol are: \nAshton Park School\, Blaise High School\, City Academy\, Compass Point Primary\, Easton CE Primary\, Fishponds Primary\, Glenfrome Primary\, Henbury Court Primary\, May Park Primary\, Oasis Academy Brislington\, Oasis Academy Long Cross\, Oasis Academy New Oak and Shirehampton Primary School. \nWe would like to invite you to our online session on Wednesday 13th May where we will be joined by Hilary Evans who leads the SEND Team in Bristol\, and Gabrielle Stacey who is leading a city-wide review of Resource Bases. Hilary will talk about our local Resource Bases and future plans for the city. Bristol Parent Carers will then lead a discussion where we will hear your views. We will think about topics such as your experience of: \n\nFinding information out about Resource Bases\nAsking for a place at a Resource Base for your child\, whether your child got a place or not\nIf your child is currently at a Resource Base how your experience has been so far\, including what you think about the provision available and how the transition to the Resource Base went for your child\nIf your child was previously in a Resource Base and has moved to another setting\n\nYour voice matters and can shape the support available for families like yours – help us make sure it’s heard. \nOur Let’s Talk sessions are interactive\, so we’d appreciate you keeping your camera on (if possible)\, and talking away as much as you’d like! \nAs a thank you for attending and sharing your experiences\, we will send you a £10 voucher. For online sessions\, we will post a voucher to your home address that you provide during Eventbrite booking. You will be asked to re-confirm your home address when you register for the online Zoom session. \nThe Zoom link for this session will be emailed to you by Eventbrite 30 minutes before the session starts. If you cannot make this session but would still like to share your views\, please complete this short survey here: LET’S TALK ABOUT: RESOURCE BASES – Fill out form \n*Please note\, to attend this session you must live in Bristol (your bin will be collected by Bristol City Council)\, or your child must attend a school in the Bristol city area. DESCRIPTION:Join us for this two-part single parent session where we come together to learn how to be compassionate with ourselves\n\n\nThis event is designed to cover two sessions so you can gain the most benefit from the workshop. \nBook your space here for session one on Friday 8th May. \nWelcome to Self Compassion for Single Parent Carers. \nPlaces are free\, but if you’re able to make a small donation to help us continue offering free sessions to as many families as possible\, we’d be incredibly grateful. \n*Please note\, to attend this session for free you must live in Bristol (your bin will be collected by Bristol City Council)\, or your child must attend a school in the Bristol city area. You must also have a child with Special Educational Needs\, but they do not need to have a diagnosis.

SUMMARY:Air Balloon Primary School | SEND Coffee Morning | Anyone can attend
