2024/2025 Impact Report

On our old website, some important updates didn’t always get the visibility they deserved – including our 2024/2025 Academic Year Impact Report. We’re proud of this report and the story it tells about what parent carers across Bristol have achieved together over the last academic year.

Covering September 2024 to August 2025, the report reflects the collective impact of families who shared their experiences, shaped priorities, and influenced change across education, health and social care.

Over the last school year, parent carers (parents or carers who have additional caring responsibilities due to caring for children with special educational needs or disabilities) have continued to speak up about what is working and where systems need to improve. Those voices have informed local planning, strengthened co-production, improved access to information, and helped highlight where pressure and capacity gaps remain.

We are especially proud of our growing peer support offer. Throughout the year, we have visited up to six education settings each week across the city and delivered regular community sessions in venues across North, East and South Bristol. This has included dedicated spaces for families whose children are struggling to access education due to anxiety or feeling unsafe.

These sessions create safe, welcoming spaces where parent carers can connect, ask questions and feel understood. We provide support with English and travel costs wherever needed, helping to remove barriers so as many families as possible can take part.

Our peer supporters act as human navigators of the support available locally and deliver early help and SEND support to hundreds of families across the City. We help families make sense of complex systems, understand their rights, and identify next steps. Sometimes that’s about clear information. Sometimes it’s about building confidence. Often, it’s simply about knowing you’re not alone.

If you’re an education setting and would like to request a peer support visit, please drop us an email. Keep an eye out for our dedicated education page, coming soon.

If you’re a parent carer and your setting hasn’t booked a visit this term, you can let us know here:

The report highlights:

  • The growing strength of the parent carer voice in Bristol
  • The impact of peer support across Bristol
  • Strategic influence across education, health and social care
  • Our funding and year in numbers

Behind every headline is lived experience. Every survey completed, every meeting attended, every story shared contributes to shaping services that are more responsive, equitable and accountable.

If you haven’t had a chance to read it yet, now’s a great time to take a look.
