Welcome to Building Confidence to Support You and the Child in Your Care

Join Bristol Parent Carers and Lisa Baker Murray on Thursday 21st May at 7PM.

Caring for a child or young person with SEND can be incredibly rewarding, but it can also take its toll on your confidence, especially when you’re constantly advocating, juggling appointments and putting everyone else first.

This session will be recorded so we can share it with other families afterwards, and so you can revisit it yourself at a later date. Recordings are securely stored and will be available for 60 days.

In this session, we’ll focus on building your confidence as a parent carer, helping you feel more assured in yourself, your voice and your role. The session will be delivered by the facilitator who previously led our Strong Advocate for Your Child sessions, bringing that same practical, supportive approach.

Together, we’ll explore:

  • What confidence really means for parent carers
  • How confidence can be worn down over time
  • Practical ways to rebuild self-belief and resilience
  • Feeling more confident in everyday situations, not just meetings

This is a will be a space for parent carers of children and young people with SEND, with time to reflect, share (if you wish), and take away ideas you can use in daily life.

You don’t need to have attended previous sessions to take part, everyone is welcome.

Places are free, but if you’re able to make a small donation to help us continue offering free sessions to as many families as possible, we’d be incredibly grateful.

*Please note, to attend this session for free you must live in Bristol (your bin will be collected by Bristol City Council), or your child must attend a school in the Bristol city area. You must also have a child with Special Educational Needs, but they do not need to have a diagnosis.
