Our core funding is delivered via a £17,500 grant from the Department for Education (DfE). The grant facilitates collaboration among parent carers to enhance local services for families. It also enables parent carers to engage with various service managers and contribute towards their improvement.
Around 37% of this grant covers the costs of the charity infrastructure, such as ensuring representatives have laptops. It also funds volunteer expenses and training, and subscriptions such as zoom and survey programmes. A further 55% is used specifically for attending school coffee mornings. This active participation allows us to offer families and schools helpful signposting information and gather valuable insights into the services they access.
This means a very small portion of our funding, around 8% or approximately £1,400, is allocated to speaking to various community groups. Through these interactions we diligently collect and relay the voices of various groups to service managers across education, health and social care, ensuring that every parent carer’s perspective is considered in the ongoing improvement and development of local services.
