Join Bristol Parent Carers for Family Voice, an in-person event which connects practitioners from education, health and social care.

Join Bristol Parent Carers for Family Voice, an in person event which connects practitioners from education, health and social care with local families.

Representatives from Bristol Parent Carers, Bristol City Council, Sirona and the Integrated Care Board will be sitting on a panel to answer your questions. This is a unique opportunity for families to get the answers they need to help navigate the local SEND systems.

There are a limited number of tickets available for peer support with one of our peer supporters. If you wish to speak with a peer supporter please select this ticket and your preferred time slot only. You will still have entry to the full event.

If you do not wish to speak with a peer supporter then please only purchase an entry to event ticket.

Important Information:

1.Submit your questions in advance: To make the most of the session, please submit your questions ahead of time using this form: https://forms.office.com/e/tr49fksLa7 or by texting your questions to 07306 650222.

2.Event questions close 1 week before: Please submit your questions no later than one week before the event to give us time to prepare the presentation and ensure accessibility for all.

3.No new questions on the day: Other than questions related to the local area update, we will not be accepting any new questions during the event.

4.Booking deadline: Booking will close 2 days before the event. If you book to attend 6 days or less before the event starts and submit a question, there is a chance we won’t be able to cover the question you have submitted, but we will try our best. We will let you know about this via email, so please check your spam folder.

5.Grouping of questions: Due to the likely volume of questions, we will group similar questions together to make the session more efficient. Not all individual specific questions will be answered.

6.Respectful conduct: We ask all attendees to treat each other with respect. Please ensure the language used is appropriate and constructive, as we aim to foster a positive and supportive environment.

7.Panel Details: Panelists will include representatives from education, health and social care, and we encourage you to use this information when submitting your questions to ensure they are directed to the relevant person. The panel members will be:

Emma Lloyd, Head of Service and Inclusion with Bristol City Council.

Mark Hemmings, Senior Performance Manager Learning Disability & Autism with BNSSG Integrated Care Board.

Kate Markley, Service Manager for the Disabled Children and Specialist Service.

Sian Morgan, Head of Community Support and Engagement at Bristol Parent Carers.

Topics Not Covered:

To ensure the event remains productive and respectful, we kindly ask that questions do not focus on:

  • Personal or confidential information about specific children or young people
  • Individual cases or complaints, including issues with specific services
  • Detailed medical diagnoses or treatment plans for individuals
  • Requests for legal advice or personal advocacy support
  • Any matters relating to the specific performance or behaviour of individual staff members

If you have a question about one of these topics, please email us at info@bristolparentcarers.org.uk or book a peer support ticket in advance, and one of our peer support team will be able to talk you through suitable next steps.
