Support for your child with Learning Disabilities

Welcome to Support for your child with Learning Disabilities.
Join Bristol Parent Carers and Kate Laine-Toner on Wednesday 24th June at 7PM.
This session will help you in supporting and gaining support for your child.
The session will be recorded so we can share it with other families afterwards, and so you can revisit it yourself at a later date. Recordings are securely stored and will be available for 60 days.
In this session we will cover:
- How to support your child at home
- How to get support for your child in school
- Gaining support in medical settings
- Accessing support from the local council
- Supporting your child into adulthood
This session is part two of a two-part series on Learning Disabilities.
Part one, Understanding Learning Disability and what it means for your Child , explores what learning disabilities are, how they may present, how to recognise them, and how Learning Disabilities differ from autism. This session takes place on Wednesday 17th June at 7PM.
If you have arrived here first, you may wish to book part one to get the most from the series. You can find more details and book your place here.
Places are free, but if you’re able to make a small donation to help us continue offering free sessions to as many families as possible, we’d be incredibly grateful.
*Please note, to attend this session for free you must live in Bristol (your bin will be collected by Bristol City Council), or your child must attend a school in the Bristol city area. You must also have a child with Special Educational Needs, but they do not need to have a diagnosis.
