Transport Rights for Post-16: What Families Need to Know
February 24 @ 19:00 - 20:30

Learn everything you need to know about the recent changes to transport for post 16
Welcome to Transport Rights for Post 16: What Families Need to Know.
Join Bristol Parent Carers and Kevin Mcmanamon from Winckworth Solicitors on Tuesday 24th February at 7PM.
This session will be recorded so we can share it with other families afterwards, and so you can revisit it yourself at a later date. Recordings are securely stored and will be available for 60 days.
In this session we will explore the recent changes to post-16 SEND transport support in Bristol and what they might mean for your family.
In this session we will cover:
- What the law actually says about post-16 SEND transport
- What has changed in Bristol City Council’s criteria, and why
- How decisions are made for young people with an EHCP
- What support should be available, and what is discretionary
- What parents and carers can do if a decision doesn’t feel right
- Where can you go for help and next steps?
Places are free, but if you’re able to make a small donation to help us continue offering free sessions to as many families as possible, we’d be incredibly grateful.
*Please note, to attend this session for free you must live in Bristol (your bin will be collected by Bristol City Council), or your child must attend a school in the Bristol city area. You must also have a child with Special Educational Needs, but they do not need to have a diagnosis.
