Understanding Learning Disability and what it means for your Child

June 17 @ 19:00 - 20:30
Free - £10.00
Join us for a supportive introduction to learning disability for parent carers.

Welcome to Understanding Learning Disability and what it means for your Child.

Join Bristol Parent Carers and Kate Laine-Toner on Wednesday 17th June at 7PM.

This session will help you gain a clearer understanding of what learning disability is and how it may present.

The session will be recorded so we can share it with other families afterwards, and so you can revisit it at a later date. Recordings are securely stored and available for 60 days.

In this session we will cover:

  • An overview of Learning Disability and its presentation
  • The difference between Autism and Learning Disability
  • How Learning Disabilities are diagnosed and/or recognised
  • The importance of having your child’s Learning Disabilities recognised

This session is part one of a two-part series on Learning Disabilities.

Part two, Support for your Child with Learning Disabilities, explores the support available for your child, how to access that support, and ways you can support your child at home. This session takes place on Wednesday 24th June at 7PM.

You may wish to book part two to get the most from the series. You can find more details and book your place here.

Places are free, but if you’re able to make a small donation to help us continue offering free sessions to as many families as possible, we’d be incredibly grateful.

*Please note, to attend this session for free you must live in Bristol (your bin will be collected by Bristol City Council), or your child must attend a school in the Bristol city area. You must also have a child with Special Educational Needs, but they do not need to have a diagnosis.
