Understanding the Health Section of an EHCP: What Families need to Know

Welcome to: Understanding the Health Section of an EHCP: What Parents Need to Know
Join Bristol Parent Carers and Watkins Solicitors on Monday 9th March, online at 10:00am.
Many parents and carers tell us they feel confused or unsure when reading health advice written for their child’s EHCP, especially when it doesn’t seem to reflect their child’s individual medical needs. This can leave both families and schools uncertain about what should be in place and what can be done.
This session will be recorded so we can share it with other families afterwards, and so you can revisit it yourself at a later date. Recordings are securely stored and will be available for 60 days.
In this session, we will cover:
- What health professionals are expected to consider when writing advice for EHCPs
- What Sections C and G are meant to include
- What the law says about health needs and provision
- What parents and carers can do if reports don’t feel right for their child
Places are free, but if you’re able to make a small donation to help us continue offering free sessions to as many families as possible, we’d be incredibly grateful.
*Please note, to attend this session for free, you must live in Bristol (your bin will be collected by Bristol City Council), or your child must attend a school in the Bristol city area. You must also have a child with Special Educational Needs, but they do not need to have a diagnosis.
