Self Compassion for Single Parent Carers on Friday 8th and Friday 15th May

Welcome to Self Compassion for Single Parent Carers.
Join Bristol Parent Carers and Murmuration at The Park Centre, Knowle on Friday 8th and Friday 15th May at 10AM.
This workshop is spread over 2 sessions, to get the most from this workshop we recommend attending both sessions.
As parent carers we face huge challenges everyday, not least because of the judgement, prejudice and lack of understanding from the wider world. In this session we will explore the impact of ableism on our mental wellbeing, and learn how compassion-based strategies can help us be well, even in the hard moments on this path.
The session will offer:
- A safe, understanding space with other single parent carers
- Honest conversation about stress, isolation, and emotional load
- Practical ways to support your wellbeing when time and energy are limited
- Reassurance that what you’re feeling is valid and you’re not alone
Our in person sessions are a great way to connect with other parent carers in a relaxed and welcoming space. We’ll have tea, coffee, biscuits and fruit available — so come along, have a cuppa, and take some time for you while getting helpful information and support.
Places are free, but if you’re able to make a small donation to help us continue offering free sessions to as many families as possible, we’d be incredibly grateful.
*Please note, to attend this session for free you must live in Bristol (your bin will be collected by Bristol City Council), or your child must attend a school in the Bristol city area. You must also have a child with Special Educational Needs, but they do not need to have a diagnosis.
