Bristol Parent Carers wants everyone to be able to use our website and access our information.
We know that people access information in different ways. We aim to make our website clear, simple and accessible, including for disabled and neurodivergent people and people who use assistive technology.
Using our website
We aim to make sure that:
- text is clear and easy to understand
- pages have a clear and consistent structure
- headings are used to help people find information
- text and important information have good colour contrast
- links are clear and meaningful
- images have alternative text where appropriate
- the website can be navigated using a keyboard
- pages can be enlarged without losing important information
- important information is not communicated using colour alone
- documents and resources are made accessible wherever possible
We also try to reduce unnecessary jargon and explain SEND terms and abbreviations when we use them.
How accessible is our website?
We are continually working to improve the accessibility of our website.
We know that some older pages, documents or resources may not yet meet the same accessibility standards as newer content. We are reviewing and improving these areas over time.

If you cannot access something on our website, please tell us.
We can work with you to provide information in a different way where possible. This might include:

- Easy Read or simpler language

Reporting an accessibility problem
If you find an accessibility problem on our website, we would really like to know about it.

Accessibility is not something we consider finished. Our website and the information on it change regularly, so we will continue to review accessibility as we add and update content.
