You Told Us. Here’s What Happens Next

Thank you to every parent carer who took part in our annual survey.

Your feedback helps us understand what life is really like for families across Bristol and makes sure that parent carer voices stay at the centre of the work we do.
The survey took place during Term 6 of the last academic year. During Terms 1 and 2, we carefully reviewed and analysed everything families shared with us. Since then, we have been speaking with schools, Bristol City Council, health partners and other local services about what changes are possible and where improvements are most needed.

Your feedback has already helped shape our priorities for this academic year.
We know that families often take the time to complete surveys but do not always hear what happens afterwards. We want parent carers to know that your voices are not disappearing into a report or spreadsheet. The information you shared is helping us push for practical changes across SEND services in Bristol.

As part of this work, we have developed a plan of six improvements areas and priorities for the year ahead. This includes areas where families told us support is working well, alongside areas where families continue to face challenges and need services to improve.
Over the next 12 months, we will continue sharing updates about the changes being worked on, the progress being made, and the areas where we know more work is still needed.

This work would not be possible without families continuing to share their experiences, ideas and feedback with us. Thank you for being part of this journey and for helping us build a stronger SEND community across Bristol.
