Changes to Autism and ADHD support in Bristol (in person venue TBC)

July 1 @ 10:00 - 11:00
Free
Join Sirona Care and Health to learn about changes to the local Autism and ADHD pathways and waiting lists.

We will explain what is changing, what it means for families and how children and young people will be able to access support earlier.

What is changing?

  • A single, joined-up pathway for Autism and ADHD
  • A new Neurodivergent Needs Analysis tool for schools and health professionals
  • Support from a new Neurodiversity Team, including:
  • Speech and Language Therapists (SLTs)
  • Occupational Therapists (OTs)
  • Educational Psychologists (EPs)
  • Other specialist professionals

The new approach will focus on understanding a child or young person’s:

  • Strengths
  • Needs
  • Differences
  • The support that may help them at school, at home and in everyday life

The aim is to provide support earlier, rather than families waiting years for an assessment before help is available.

Will assessments still happen?

Yes. Autism and ADHD assessments will continue to be available for children and young people who need them.

Who is this event for?

This event is for parent carers (parents and carers of disabled children and young people, or those with additional needs), families and professionals who would like to understand the changes and ask questions.

There will be time for questions and discussion. Please note that the team will not be able to answer questions about individual children or young people.

Where is this event, and what time should I arrive?

We will update this event with details of the venue as soon as we are able to. Arrival from 9:30am so that we can start at 10am.

The presentation will end at 11am and Bristol Parent Carer Staff will be available for signposting and support until 11:30am.
