Advocating for Your Child at School

March 5 @ 19:00 - 20:30
Support for parent carers to feel confident, organised and prepared when advocating in school.

Welcome to Advocating for Your Child at School

Join Bristol Parent Carers and Lisa Baker-Murray online on Thursday 5th March at 7PM.

Supporting your child in school can feel overwhelming at times, especially when you’re not sure how to make your voice heard or where to start. This session is designed to help parents and carers feel more confident when advocating for their child’s needs in school. You’ll gain tools and strategies to help you prepare, communicate clearly, and feel more assured in conversations with schools.

In this session, we’ll explore:

  • How to get organised and prepare for meetings
  • Building confidence when speaking with professionals
  • Using clear, effective, and helpful language
  • Understanding how to share your child’s needs clearly
  • Feeling more empowered in school conversations

Places are free, but if you’re able to make a small donation to help us continue offering free sessions to as many families as possible, we’d be incredibly grateful.

*Please note, to attend this session for free, you must live in Bristol (your bin will be collected by Bristol City Council), or your child must attend a school in the Bristol city area. You must also have a child with Special Educational Needs, but they do not need to have a diagnosis.
