Welcome to An introduction to Makaton
Join Bristol Parent Carers and Ali Pennington on Tuesday 3rd March at 7pm
In this session we will learn the basics of Makaton, a unique language program that uses signs and symbols to support communication.
This session will not be recorded.
In this session, we will cover:
- Core vocabulary and a range of additional vocabulary for supporting children and young people with their communication
- How Makaton can be used to support communication, practical ways of incorporating the use of Makaton and next steps.
- You will receive a booklet of all the signs and symbols covered during the session for use during the training.
Places are free, but if you’re able to make a small donation to help us continue offering free sessions to as many families as possible, we’d be incredibly grateful.
*Please note, to attend this session for free, you must live in Bristol (your bin will be collected by Bristol City Council), or your child must attend a school in the Bristol city area. You must also have a child with Special Educational Needs, but they do not need to have a diagnosis.
