About the trainer:

Luke Clements is the Emeritus Professor of Law & Social Justice at the School of Law Leeds University. He was involved in the drafting of the Bills that became the Carers (Recognition and Services) Act 1995 and the Carers (Equal Opportunities) Act 2004, as well as acting as the expert adviser to the Joint Parliamentary Select Committee scrutinising the Bill that resulted in the Care Act 2014.

Most recently, Luke’s work on the rights of disabled children and their families has been much cited in the Law Commission’s proposals for the reform of children’s social care law.

This session is part of Bristol Parent Carers’ free programme of information sessions for parent carers of children and young people with SEND or emerging additional needs.

Places are free, but if you’re able to make a small donation to help us continue offering free sessions to as many families as possible, we’d be incredibly grateful.

To attend this session for free you must live in Bristol (your bin will be collected by Bristol City Council), or your child must attend a school in the Bristol city area. You must also have a child with Special Educational Needs, but they do not need to have a diagnosis.
