Acorn Education is launching two brand-new specialist schools in Bristol this autumn—Manor Wood (ages 5-16) and Avonside (ages 13-19). These independent schools are designed to provide tailored education for children and young people with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs, Autism, and associated challenges.
By establishing these schools, Acorn Education aims to offer local families high-quality specialist education close to home, eliminating the need to seek support further afield.
Manor Wood School will provide an inclusive curriculum tailored to each child’s unique needs, supporting them to progress at their own pace while preparing for future challenges. Avonside School, built for older students, will focus on equipping them with the skills and confidence necessary for further education or employment, utilizing state-of-the-art vocational facilities.
With these schools, Acorn Education plan to ensure children and young people with additional needs receive the right support to thrive by nurturing potential, building resilience and creating brighter futures.
We hope these new schools will support more families in the region to access specialized education. To introduce families to these new schools, Acorn Education is hosting an open evening on Thursday, 12th June. This event will offer parents, carers, and young people the chance to meet staff, learn about the schools’ tailored approach, and explore the facilities. Click HERE for further information
