We are excited to share that the Bristol Co-production Charter has officially been launched!
This important initiative is a collaborative effort between Bristol Parent Carers, Bristol City Council, and the NHS Bristol, North Somerset, and South Gloucestershire Integrated Care Board (ICB).
What is a charter?
A charter is an agreement that outlines how we will work together to support children and families.
What is Coproduction?
Co-production is when parents carers, and service providers work together as equal partners to create and improve services that meet the needs of children and families
Why is this important?
This is the first time that special educational needs and disabilities (SEND) services in Bristol have collaborated with the local parent carer forum to create a co-production charter.
What does this mean for my family?
The launch of the co-production charter is an important milestone for families in Bristol. It has been designed to empower parent carers like you, your voice matters.
The charter ensures that your experiences and insights as a parent carer will be valued and considered in decision-making processes regarding services for SEND Children.
The charter has reciprocal empowerment at its core. It will foster a two-way relationship where families and service providers empower each other, contributing to positive changes in the SEND community.
By collaborating authentically we can create more effective and tailored support services that truly meet the needs of your child and family.
The charter promotes open lines of communication between families and service providers, ensuring that your concerns and feedback are heard and addressed.
With your input shaping local SEND services, you can feel more confident that the support your family receives is relevant and beneficial.
The focus on co-production means that local SEND services will be designed with care, compassion and understanding, prioritising the well-being of your child and family.
