Positive behaviour support
The British Institute of Learning Disability (BILD) has been running a Positive Behaviour Support (PBS) programme for a few years. BILD has received funding to be able to offer a telephone support service provided by their Positive Behaviour Support consultants (England Only).
Contact is delighted to announce that they are able to resume normal service and post out free copies of The Helpful Guide for Families with Disabled Children straight to your letter box.
Bristol Autism Support update
Bristol Autism Support (BAS) turned 8 last month, formally became a registered charity last November and became a membership organisation in February. BAS is currently developing a mailing of wellbeing packs for their members which include some pampering treats and information about mental health support and relaxation activities.
Refuge has launched a new short film, to draw attention to the huge numbers of women reaching out to its services during lockdown, and to remind women living with domestic abuse that Refuge’s life-saving specialist support services are here for them.
Special Educational Needs and Disability, Information, Advice, Support Services are statutory services which provide information, advice and support to parents and carers of children and young people who have, or may have, special educational needs (SEN) and/or disabilities, and young people themselves (16+).
Update on activities
All Short Break providers are identifying vulnerable families and referring them to the Inclusion Service (with families’ permission) as well as keeping in regular phone contact with families of CYP who attend their service.
Bristol Holiday SEND Stay & Play update

In line with current government guidance on social distancing and the closure of schools, the SEND stay & play sessions will not run across Bristol during the Easter holidays.
